As part of the exhibition’s Indoor Climbing Hub, Ged will discuss the evolution of climbing gyms alongside Nicole Chernyakhovsky of Brooklyn Boulders and Christian Popien, of Bahnhof Blo Bouldercafé Wuppertal, who co-hosts the event.

If anybody knows about the rapid growth of indoor climbing, it’s Ged. He launched our first hangar in a warehouse in Liverpool, so he’d have somewhere to climb with his mates. Now he’s the boss of a booming, multi-site business, and he’s no longer just climbing with old friends. The Climbing Hangar family gets bigger every day.

With the introduction of a climbing programme at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the sport is set to hit the headlines in an even bigger way. That’s going to change the lives of athletes like our very own Shauna Coxey.

At ISPO Munich, top climbing brands, gym bosses and athletes will have their say on the future of the sport. They’ll also discuss topics like gym management, route setting, consumer events, training and retail opportunities.

The Indoor Climbing Hub is hosted by Popien and Florian Kops. The full list of contributors includes includes brands like Adidas, La Sportiva and CafeKraft. Guests will also enjoy talks by IFSC and ABC personnel amongst others. There’ll even be an appearance by photographer (and friend of the Hangar) Liam Lonsdale.
