PCL Save the Date

WHAT IS PCL OPEN?

One big night. Three reasons to get involved.

The Scramble. 50 blocs. 60 minutes. Your score, and your tactics too. Rack up points on the blocs you love, or go all-in on the hard stuff. Test yourself, challenge your mates and have a great session on loads of brand new blocs.

The Finals Night. Live head-to-head finals under the lights, with music, and the whole community cheering from the mats.

The Prizes. PCL Open is part of the Pro Climbing League, with Red Bull, and the top climbers win a route to a PCL Qualifier at City Bouldering in London on 5 December 2026. From there, they could make it to the pro ranks. All PCL Open finalists will earn a spot at the qualifier, and comp winners will get an all-expenses-paid trip.

Your £35 ticket includes:

  • Entry to one 2-hour heat
  • The PCL Open 2026 event t-shirt
  • Raffle entries [prizes to be confirmed]
  • A place in the crowd for the semi-finals and the live final

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Pick your heat. Two heats per venue, 125 climbers each. Book the same heat as your mates.
  2. Practise if you like. Half of the comp blocs will be on the wall and tagged prior to the event, so you can project them before the day. The rest are brand new.
  3. Scramble. 2 hours to choose from 50 blocs. Every top scores points, and harder blocs score more. You choose your own challenge.
  4. Watch the finals. The top scorers go through to the semi-finals and a live head-to-head final. Stick around, cheer them on, and stay for the party.

For the strongest climbers: finish top of the leaderboard and you win a route to a PCL Qualifier, and a shot at the Pro Climbing League.

HOW TO BOOK

Booking takes two minutes: Choose your venue above, pick your heat, and pay £35. Every climber needs their own ticket, so send this page to your mates and book the same heat. Make sure your waiver is up to date before the day.

FAQs

Do I need to be a strong climber? Nope. There are 50 blocs across a wide range of grades, and every top scores points. If you climb regularly, you'll find plenty to go at.

Do I need to be a member? No. The PCL Open is open to everyone, and it's £35 for everyone.

Which heat should I pick? Whichever suits you and your crew. Both heats are the same format, on the same blocs.

Can my friends come and watch? Spectators are more than welcome to come along and cheer for their mates but be aware that as a spectator you won’t be permitted to climb, nor receive an event t-shirt and you won’t have the chance to win any of our spot prizes. For the best experience on the day, we recommend you sign up and claim all your goodies, but if you really just want to come along to soak up the atmosphere and back your mates, that’s ok too.

Is there an age limit? In line with all PCL events, competitors must be 16+ to compete at a PCL qualifier. TCH rules state that over 14’s can climb, and we’re inviting 14-16 year olds to take part in our event. But be aware, even if you make it finals, you won’t be invited to the qualifying event in December, unless you’re old enough.

More questions? Each venue's booking page has the full FAQs, or ask the team at your Hangar.

YOU'RE UP

Six Hangars. Two Saturdays. Our biggest nights of the year. Get your mates together and pick your heat before someone else does.
