We are looking for a Hold Washer to join our ever-growing and dynamic team. You will be responsible for supporting our setting team in driving a positive bouldering experience for our customers. Our setting is central to the climbing experience we offer and is key to driving our commercial success.

Ideally, you are enthusiastic about bouldering, able to lift and wash volumes of a wide variety of holds and won't mind a bit of water – it is not a dry job! Does this sound like you?

Role responsibilites

  • Safely strip holds and volumes from designated walls according to the setting schedule.
  • Organise holds and hardware efficiently for cleaning and storage.
  • Wash holds thoroughly using gym-approved procedures and equipment.
  • Ensure cleaned holds are dried and prepped for next-day setting.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the setting and washing areas.
  • Communicate effectively with the Head Setter and setting team to stay aligned with weekly needs.
  • Assist with additional setting preparation tasks as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working at height and using basic tools (e.g., impact driver).
  • A commitment to safety and respect for the route-setting process.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Criteria

  • Passion for climbing and a genuine interest in promoting the sport to others.
  • Interest in the route-setting pathway (prior experience not required).

Working Conditions

Physical Requirements: This role involves manual handling tasks including lifting and carrying buckets of climbing holds (up to approximately 20kg), repetitive cleaning work, and the use of ladders to access wall sections.

Work Environment: The setting and washing process may involve exposure to chalk dust, water, cleaning solutions, and occasional noise from power tools.

PPE & Equipment: Appropriate safety equipment and tools (e.g., gloves, goggles, drills) will be provided and must be used in accordance with safety procedures.
