Max was a promising GB youth climber but a series of injuries forced him to take a break from the sport.

On his return to climbing, Max changed his relationship with food in an effort to maintain his idea of competition weight and performance. But was losing weight really the answer?

Following the success of the short documentary 'Light' which came out last year, eating disorders have been a hot topic in the climbing industry. We spoke to Max about climbing with an eating disorder, his recovery and his message: that help is out there and lighter isn't always better.
