At The Climbing Hangar, we believe that climbing is a great way to bond with your kids, build confidence, and develop important skills like problem-solving and teamwork. To help make your visit to The Climbing Hangar with your kids a success, we've put together some tips and tricks to help you make the most of your climbing experience.

1. Start with the basics

Before you hit the climbing wall, take some time to learn the basics of climbing safety and technique. Our knowledgeable crew will take you through a thorough induction and teach you everything you need to know to ensure a safe and enjoyable climbing experience for your family. Book yours here.

2. Be patient and encouraging

Climbing can be challenging, especially for kids who may be trying it for the first time. Encourage your kids to keep trying and offer positive feedback when they succeed. Our friendly crew are always around on the mats so you can call them over to give you a hand in encouraging your kids to try the climbs.

3. Create a fun and supportive environment

Climbing is all about having fun and challenging yourself. At The Hangar, we try to create a positive and supportive environment for your kids to help them enjoy their climbing experience and develop a love for the sport.

4. Bring appropriate gear

Make sure your kids wear comfortable clothes and we'll take care of the rest, we provide climbing shoe hire for free. We have water fountains and an extensive kids’ menu and deli counter selection at our in-centre cafes so you can keep them fuelled throughout their climb.

5. Join our coached kids club

Our Rock Club sessions are a great way for kids to learn and improve their climbing skills in a fun and supportive environment. Joining the club can also help your child develop new friendships and become part of a community of young climbers. We’ll have extra Rock Club sessions running at every Hangar over the Easter holidays, find out more and book here.
